Event Programs for the Evans Mills Raceway Park’s grand finale weekend, the John Burr Classic share history of the track, it’s racers, highlights from the season, and advertisements from our partners. Selling advertisements in the program covered the printing cost and we offered them complimentary to fans to ensure all copies were distributed for our advertisers.
I handled the advertising sales and design of the program from front to back including layout, designing ads for partners, articles, and statistics.

Each Thanksgiving, the Evans Mills Raceway Park transforms into a wonderland of massive holiday themed light displays for a drive-thru show called Northern Lights. Northern Lights was my first project to tackle at EMRP. I handled sponsorship sales, setup, and design of the event program and signage throughout the show.
The Northern Lights event program is a blend of holiday content like recipes, poems, and activity pages mixed with race season highlights, and advertisements from the show’s partners.
To support digital marketing efforts for Northern Lights, I also hit the ground with print materials I designed for some grass roots exposure! I traveled hundreds of miles through five counties with 11×17″ posters, desk top information cards, and yard signs.
I was thankful for all our partners and other businesses spread throughout New York that allowed us to place these, and leave information at checkout for their customers.
We also distributed thousands more information cards through trunk or treats, Christmas parades, and other community events. It’s rewarding to talk with families that remembered our show and branding, and told us how excited they were to return.
Trade shows and community events always give us a great opportunity to meet new people and catch up with our fans. Of course when you set up a table anywhere, you’re going to want some eye catching material to pull people in. I always enjoy people slowing down past our table to read my signs, banners, schedule cards, and to grab a business card.
